Near my home is a beautiful park atop the Santa Monica Mountains called Mountain Gateway Park. From here a hardy hiker can take the backbone trail all along the crest of the mountains to Topanga..... or as I once did, cross over the mountains to Will Rogers State Park near the beach. Where ever you stand the view of the San Fernando Valley is spectacular!
