On our way up to Kern for a painting adventure, four of us artists stopped at a turn-out to view the river. We couldn't help ourselves. It was simply wildly beautiful. Each of us found our spot, some looking down river, others up river and we painted and smiled and totally had a great time.
I crawled out onto some rocks where a tree had built up a blockade and painted the view looking toward Lake Isabella and Kernville. This is the roaring wild side of the the Kern River where it rushes through the canyon on its way downhill toward the valley below.
